Filler or BOTOX?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a neuromodulator. It works by blocking signals between nerves and muscles that cause muscle tension. When underlying tension is released – or blocked – the muscles themselves can relax, eliminating fine lines and deep wrinkles and allowing the skin to smooth.

BOTOX® Cosmetic can be used to treat:

  • Forehead Creases
  • Frown Lines
  • Crow’s Feet
  • Marionette Lines
  • Pebbly Chin
  • Neck Bands

BOTOX® Cosmetic requires only one treatment for results. Results may last up to four months.

Dermal fillers stimulate collagen and elastin production to add volume to the treatment area. This allows for a gradual filling in of fine lines and deep wrinkles. Dermal fillers can also be used to add volume to the space underneath the eyes, the cheeks, and other areas impacted by aging.

The JUVÉDERM® and Restylane® dermal fillers offered at our office can be used on the hands, décolletage, and face to address volume loss for months at a time. Depending on the formulation used and the area treated, results may even last for up to 24 months. Some fillers can also be used to enhance the size, shape, and symmetry of the lips.

Which Option is Best for Your Needs?

Neuromodulators relax muscles. Dermal fillers add volume. The best option for your needs will be entirely dependent on your concerns, your goals, and your natural anatomy. The best way to determine which option will produce the most impressive results is through a one-on-one consultation at our Leawood office. During this visit, we will carefully evaluate your problem areas, provide honest information about the most efficacious treatment options, and help you decide on which method of aesthetic enhancement will best meet your needs.

Both fillers and modulators are nonsurgical cosmetic procedures that come with little to no downtime. Some of these procedures can be combined to address multiple concerns during a single visit, while others may best serve your needs as a stand-alone service. We welcome the opportunity to meet with you, understand your concerns, and help you achieve your goals. Please call us at 913-341-2188 to schedule your consultation today.
