Aveli is an FDA-approved treatment designed to address cellulite. Unlike creams or temporary fixes, Aveli targets the fibrous septa beneath the skin responsible for dimples, producing smoother skin in a single in-office procedure. If you have cellulite despite exercise and a healthy lifestyle, Aveli at Advanced Cosmetic Surgery can help you achieve your cosmetic goals.

What Is Avéli Cellulite Treatment?

Aveli is a minimally invasive cellulite treatment that uses a handheld device to release the fibrous bands that cause dimpling on the thighs and buttocks. This minimally invasive procedure is performed under local anesthesia and typically takes about an hour to complete. The plastic surgery device allows your provider to manually release the fibrous bands causing cellulite, ensuring accurate and customized treatment for each patient. While cellulite is often confused with excess fat or loose skin, it is actually caused by these tight connective bands pulling the skin downward. Aveli works beneath the surface to resolve this structural issue, producing smoother skin without harming surrounding tissue.

Ideal candidates for Aveli are adults who are experiencing moderate to severe cellulite and have good skin elasticity. This treatment is not designed for fat reduction or skin tightening as other cellulite treatments. It is best suited for individuals who are near their goal weight and want to target visible cellulite that has not improved with diet or exercise. During your consultation with Dr. Young, we will assess your goals of treating cellulite, skin quality, and medical history to determine if Aveli is the right treatment for you.

Preparing for Your Aveli Treatment

Before undergoing Aveli treatment, you will meet with Dr. Young to discuss what to expect before, during, and after the procedure. You may be advised to avoid blood-thinning medications and alcohol in the days leading up to treatment to minimize the risk of bruising and ease your recovery.

The Aveli Procedure

The Aveli procedure is performed in-office under local anesthesia. After numbing the treatment area, a small device is inserted just beneath the skin through a tiny incision. The device includes a light and hook mechanism that allows Dr. Young to identify each individual septa band and release it precisely.

Each band that is released helps smooth the surface of the skin, reducing the appearance of dimples. Once all identified bands have been treated, the device is removed, and a small bandage is placed over the entry point. The entire process takes about 45 to 75 minutes to complete, depending on the size of the treatment area.

Aveli Recovery and Results

  • 1-2 weeks
  • Low activity

Most patients experience mild bruising, tenderness, and swelling in the days following their Aveli procedure. These effects are temporary and can be managed with over-the-counter medication and cold compresses. You may be advised to avoid strenuous exercise and sitting or lying directly on the treated area for about one to two weeks.

You will begin to see a visible improvement in your skin’s dimpled appearance within a few weeks, with continued smoothing over the next few months as swelling subsides. Since Aveli directly targets the underlying structural cause of cellulite, the results are long-lasting and often more effective than non-invasive options.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Aveli treatment painful?

No, your Aveli treatment will not be painful at all. Because we apply a topical anesthetic to numb the treatment area, you won’t feel any discomfort at all.

  • Will I need multiple treatments to see results with Aveli?

No, Aveli is designed to simply be a single,in-office treatment. You will likely only need one treatment to see the results you’re looking for.

  • When will I see the results of Aveli?

It typically takes a few weeks before you see visible improvement in the appearance of the treatment area. The skin will continue to smooth in the following weeks and months as the swelling completely subsides.

  • What should I avoid after Aveli treatment?

After your Aveli treatment, you will want to avoid strenuous activities and sitting or lying down on the treatment area for 1-2 weeks. After that time, you can go back to all your normal activities.

  • What areas of the body does Aveli work on?

Aveli is primarily used on the buttocks and thighs. These two areas are where cellulite is most often found.

  • Are there any side effects with Aveli treatment?

Yes, as with any treatment, Aveli does come with some side effects. The most common include bruising, swelling, and tenderness at the treatment site.

  • Is there any downtime with Aveli?

There is very minimal downtime with Aveli. While you will need to avoid certain strenuous activities and avoid putting pressure on the treatment site for one to two weeks, beyond that, you can return to your normal routine within a day or two.
