VIDEO TRANSCRIPT: What’s the difference between a breast lift and a breast augmentation? In truth, they’re two very different things. With a breast lift, or mastopexy, we’re actually repositioning, lifting the position of the nipple and the breast tissue above the inframammary fold, which is that fold underneath the breast. That’s the ideal position. A breast augmentation is using an implant and the volume and the shape and projection that that implant offers in order to achieve the look, projection, and size of breasts that a woman desires. And sometimes, we’ll use those two procedures together, placing the implant for the volume, and the projection, and the roundness that it offers as well as lifting or repositioning that breast tissue in front of that implant to get that ideal shape.
